Rear facades
Facades facing inner-block courtyards, along with rain screen walls, shape an architectural landscape that equally deserves our attention. Although these are more domestic, less visible spaces, there is a common tendency to overlook them as secondary or residual. However, they were conceived by the very same architects, thoughtfully designed and well-composed, even if the passage of time has left some of them cluttered with unapproved additions, enclosed balconies, or disorganized window apertures.
The goal of our Chromatic Studies is to unveil the original finishes and historical color schemes. In cases where these are no longer recoverable due to extensive alterations to the original composition and window openings, we use color to reorder the facade and restore its visual cohesion. Through this strategic use of color, we aim to either harmonize the structure with its surroundings or gently distinguish it within the domestic landscape of each courtyard block.
