In 2003, we were asked to select the paint color for an unassuming rain screen wall at Carrer de Xucl\u00e0 5. Thanks to the chromatic proposal designed by our team, an entire urban space in the Raval neighborhood was completely revitalized. Drawing inspiration from some cat graffiti painted in 1998 on a newly exposed party wall, we designed a concept that\u2014reminiscent of the famous Spanish comic strip “13, Rue del Percebe”\u2014evoked the ghost traces of old structural floor slabs, severed partition walls, and the pastel hues of former rooms.<\/p>\n
This conceptual design was integrated into a paneled stucco composition reflecting the tones of Barcelona’s traditional stone, supported by a purple, anti-graffiti coated baseboard. The original illustrator was brought back to restore the iconic cats. Over the years, this space established itself as a landmark within the neighborhood. In 2015, the same developer opened new window apertures in the wall, permanently consolidating it as a “new” building facade. It was then fully restored once more, strictly adhering to the criteria and color palette of our original Chromatic Study.<\/p>\n
